I went to Vegas for a few days for a law conference and ended up on the 55th floor at the Encore hotel. What great views!
I also had a fun night seeing Phish at the Forum with a good friend. We had seats up close, but on the side of the stage. We had a perfect view of the keyboard player for the whole show. It was a great night and a fun show.
Hard to capture the energy on video, but I tried:
Other than that we’ve been having a lot of fun times with friends and celebrating birthdays including Ari’s 3rd.
Jordan even went into a bouncy house when he saw no other kids were in it. You can see how spooked he gets when other kids start coming in.
What a great birthday weekend! Jordan has come a long way. He’s grown up to be such a sweet, fun, sensitive kid. We are enjoying his company so much. He asks a lot of questions, some very deep; his curiosity is unwavering.
His current obsessions: superheros and bad guys.
Jordan’s love for singing and music grows every day:
The video cut off so we started again to capture the whole song:
And Eli really follows his lead. Here’s Eli singing Happy Birthday to Jordan
Jordan’s pre-school class (camp) birthday celebration:
We were thrilled with the venue for his birthday party: Santa Monica Aquarium. Despite the heat and humidity, the kids seemed to enjoy all that it had to offer.
Pizza and cake time:
The show, including a huge whale bone:
Other photos worth sharing:
Kids singing happy birthday (I missed the English version)
One of Jordan’s favorite new presents, the chef costume:
Family celebration:
Here’s to many, many, many more!!! We love you Jordan!
It’s hard to believe, but tomorrow Jordan will be turning 4! So, I thought this would be a good opportunity to get caught up with photos and videos from the rest of his 3rd year, starting with the many faces of Jordan Wax:
He learned how to swim and now loves it!!!!
We bought a bench for our front porch, and the kids have enjoyed popsicle time there. Actually they enjoy Tammy’s homemade fruit popsicles anywhere.
Here’s some photos of Eli. He’s no baby anymore. He’s such a joy. He’s always happy.
It’s all fun and games
Even hiccups are funny
Selfie collection:
Hanging with friends:
Nothing better than seeing how much Jordan and Eli love each other. Jordan talks about Eli as if they are best friends and they copy each other on everything
Maybe my favorite photos ever
No shortage of birthday parties
Jordan hasn’t seen Star Wars but he’s obsessed with talking about it because one of his friends talks about it. He is dying to know more. His friend even had a Star Wars party. Jordan is no jedi master
Eli jumping
Family day at the beach
Hanging with Tali and Ari
Outing to the mall with Daddy when Tammy was out of town
Jordan was too scared to go up on one of the animals until he saw Eli up there. And then he showed off with no hands:
I ordered one of the Grateful Dead shows as a pay-per-view and streamed it to watch and listen. The kids watched the first couple of songs with me
Tammy and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary at the Penthouse at Huntley in Santa Monica overlooking the ocean. Easily the best 5 years of my life. They only get better.
Tammy’s cousins organized a bonfire at the beach for the whole extended family, complete with fun, love, drums and s’mores!! We were also celebrating Yossi’s and Shoshana’s birthdays
Eli having his first roasted marshmallow
Singing happy birthday
And then we went on a much needed vacation to Lake Arrowhead.
I took Jordan on bumper cars for the first time and the kids rode on a train together
We’ve all had such a busy Spring (which is mostly a good thing). It gets harder and harder to find the time to post updates on everybody. Here are photos and videos going back to early March up through Mother’s Day.
Purim… Jordan wore one of Shoshana’s shirts and it ended up being one of the cooler costumes. He has worn it dozens of times since.
Eli already learning how to count!
Always playing
And now he’s even getting into Jordan’s singing routine
more singing…
And more!

Meanwhile the boys hung out
First trip to New York for me in 10 years and longer for Tammy. And first trip with no kids. GREAT TRIP!! Random piano player in Washington Square Park.
It’s been a busy winter at the Wax household. I’ve been overloaded at work since the New Year and the kids have been keeping Tamar on her toes. But just because you haven’t seen pictures and videos in the last couple of months doesn’t mean we haven’t been documenting every fun moment that we’ve had in between all the work.
It’s amazing to look back at the pictures from January of Eli and realize that he already looks and acts older than he looked just 2 months ago. He’s growing up more and more everyday. He parrots back just about every word we say to him. He’s daring and adventurous. And most of all he is fun and happy. We feel so lucky to have him around.
Jordan has also grown up in the last couple of months. He’s getting regular good feedback at school, and loves Eli more than I’ve ever seen a brother love. It’s amazing to watch. Sorry for the huge collection of backlogged pics and videos, but I want to make sure it’s all documented for the future:
We’ve really enjoyed having Poppy and Nanny around this winter. The kids adore them AND SO DO WE!. And we’ve appreciated all of the help.
Poppy got way into the temple fun
And even helped with Jordan’s haircut
Jordan is pretty cooperative for haircuts these days
Eli not so much
But usually Eli is all smiles, giggles, and fun
And exploring, and practicing steps.
And eating of course.. Eli eats more than many adults I know
And he LOVES Jordan
Love
And he’s learning how to sing like Jordan too
A few events:
I took Jordan to see his first NBA game: Laker vs Bulls. We had Dan’s amazing floor seats, 3rd row. Jordan was bored. We’ll try again in a couple of years:
Jonah’s birthday party
Visit from CZ and Tom
Snow day at Jordan’s school (who need to live in Chicago, we can just truck in the snow)
A great crop of fresh oranges from our tree (HUGE!)
Santa Monica outing:
Daddy and me with Daddy and Eli
And getting to ride front facing in Jordan’s seat
Jordan still loves Toy Story (although is is now also into SHARKS)
This is Jordan literally praying to his Toy Story characters
He still loves to sing and perform
Daddy trying to teach Jordan to build
He’s slowly starting to do other stuff other than playing with Toy Story stuff. He loves to line up his toys
Fun at the park
More cousin time
Eli making new friends
A few other fun pics…
I love this video because it shows how much my amazing wife gives it her all with the kids. Getting as silly as they want.
And this is a picture that I will save to show Jordan when he gets older to see what a cassanova he was as a toddler.
Next photos: my quick trip to Chicago and then Purim pictures!
I got a little bit of time off for work so we tried to take advantage. On New Years Day we went to the park. Jordan practiced riding his tricycle, Eli smiled and laughed on the swing and practiced his walking
I cant get enough of that smile
And, look at those cheeks!
Jordan on the slide (he never used to do anything like this)
Eli learning to walk (and fall)
He even tried the Tricycle
Zakai and Eytan met us at the park one day too!
How lucky to have so many cousins!
And more and more every day, Jordan and Eli are playing together and having fun
And when Eli isn’t around to play, Jordan usually plays band and performs
We had such a fun New Years Eve this year hosting friends. The kids (7 of them total) had a blast!!!
Jordan showed off his performance skills, singing his favorite songs:
And we played games
We celebrated the new year on New York time so the party was done at 9:05
Looking forward to a great year!
Also had to add this photo from Jordan’s fun sleep over with Hayley a few nights before the new year. Looking forward to many more cousin sleep overs in the future!
We had an awesome 2 day vacation in the desert on Christmas. We decided to upgrade last minute to a suite so that Jordan and Eli could sleep in their own room. Well worth it!
Eli spent much of the trip practicing his walking, which was new to him at the time.
We stopped at the Dinosaur museum on the way.
And Eli had his first In N Out burger! yum!
The room and the view in the hotel were awesome
Huge balcony
Jordan and Eli are now having lots of fun playing together
Uh oh, is this the beginning of a Jordan-like car obsession? No, Eli doesn’t get obsessed with toys like Jordan does/did
Fun!
We had a great outing to the Children’s museum nearby. They had a fun pizza making station, grocery store, and car painting
And we went for an evening trip to the zoo where they had lights up for Christmas
And last, we stopped for a hike at an Indian reservation:
