Musical child

We’ve always known that Jordan had an ear for music, but lately he’s been taking it to the next level. In fact the last several nights he’s been singing in his sleep. Randomly, in the middle of the night (or early morning) we’ll get a full concert through the monitor from his crib, with a medley of all of his favorite songs.

Here are some recent videos of him singing and dancing (rocking out)

And when he’s not singing, sometimes he just likes to run in circles:

I love you Mommy

There’s nothing better than hearing I love you Mommy, or I love you Daddy.

No doubt this kid loves his Mommy.

And he also still loves Poppy’s car, which he calls “Poppy’s car, Daddy’s car now”

Speaking of Jordan language. Recently overheard when he woke up from his nap in a 5 minute span:

poppy the builder
can he fix it
white poppy car
black poppy car
bye daddy
daddy’s leaving
trouble in poppy car
trouble in daddy car
trouble in daddy car now
wheel on da bus go wound and wound
all foo da towwwwwn
a-choo!
uh-oh tzetz
orange poppy car
daddy car now

Manu car

Jordan’s obsession with wheels has now transformed itself fully into an obsession with Poppy’s car (which we have told him is now Daddy’s car). We hear “Poppy’s car” no less than 100 times every day, no joke. He wakes up saying it on repeat, and we hear it all through the day. He literally gets giddy with delight when it’s time for me to leave in the morning for work and he gets to watch me drive away in Poppy’s car. He’ll even start saying “bye bye, see you later” to me to make me get in the car sooner.

If we are out and about, he points to every single Prius, all zillion of them and tells us that it’s a “Red Poppy car” or “gween poppy car.” Prius’s are the #1 car on the road here, so you can imagine how many times a day we hear it.

He loves to touch the car and rub the dirty wheels, and when it’s time to stop, he often starts crying.

But he also loves Tammy’s new CRV (especially if Poppy’s car isn’t around). He calls it Mommy’s new car, or sometimes just “Manu car” for short. He could spend hours just touching the two cars in the driveway if we let him.

Guess we need to start washing our cars more often:

The driveway has become his new playground:

Tammy got some free goldfish at the market the other day. I captured one picture of Jordan checking them out before their lives came to a quick end after I overfed them. Glad he’s too young to ask for an explanation.

Day on the town with Daddy

Tammy had plans last Sunday, so I got to have a day on the town with Jordan 1 on 1. We went to the Santa Monica Promenade in the morning. He loved the street performers. It was such a beautiful sunny day I had to buy him a hat to keep the sun out of his eyes.

Love to take video of what it’s like to see him first thing in the morning…

And here’s a great picture of him right before bed after his bath:

And here’s a random video close up of his delicious, cute cheeks.

More cousin fun…

It’s so much fun to see Jordan playing with his L.A. cousins. He loves them all so much. Every time he sees them he talks about it for the next few days.

Jordan and Michael (who is closest to his age) are starting to play well together

Maya and Hayley always show him so much love and affection…

And here’s a few of Jordan by himself…

Playing with his “thank you Nanny” cars. He still remembers who gave them to him and calls them that by name… This is his concentration face…

And this is the face he makes when you ask him to smile for a picture or say cheese:

He loves to play peek a boo and hide and seek these days. Then if you call out places you think he might be he says other places that we should suggest…
