We had a great Tammy’s birthday/holiday weekend. Jordan really enjoyed Safta’s briskit (leftovers too!), and he had a blast playing with his cousins. Now when Jordan sees anyone praying or chanting he says “Saba.” We’re not sure how he caught onto that so quickly, but it can’t be coincidence.

Happy birthday Tamar

The best thing is that, more than ever, it is clear that Jordan understands what we’re asking and sometimes even answers yes or no. Since he was getting a little upset when I was taking him to his changing table to change his diaper, I now ask him, “I’m going to change your diaper now OK?” And he answers yeah, and then doesn’t get upset . He also makes a noise that is hard to describe that Tammy realized means “yes.” Tammy’s language skills are coming in handy as she always seems to figure out what he is saying long before I do.

For those who see Jordan often, his wheel-spinning addiction is not new. I have mentioned that here a few times, but I decided to capture the breadth of his addiction in photos. These were all taken within 24 hours of each other

This is the normal look of concentration we’ve gotten used to when he’s busy “wheeling”

It really doesn’t matter if there are other toys or other kids around to play with, he just wants to be left alone with something that spins:

When we give him cars to roll, he immediately flips them upside down so he can spin their wheels.

The best way to become Jordan’s friend is to roll the wheel back to him. Otherwise, he might not want to pay you any attention.
